“I started coming to see Dr. Brashear when my primary physician referred me to knee injections. She thought it might be time for me to consider surgery. Dr. Brashear and his staff took some x-rays and confirmed that I had a lot of arthritis in both knees and whenever I was ready I should have knee replacements but he left it up to me when I should do this. He explained to me that as long as the knee injections were providing me with relief from the pain, I could wait as long as I wanted for the surgery. He said I would know when the time was right for operation. It would be when I had enough of the pain and didn't want to deal with it anymore. I've never had any surgery, and I'm a little scared to have this surgery, but I know that I will have to have it sometime in my future. I'm glad Dr. Brashear didn't pressure me to do it before I was ready. I appreciated that, and I thought that was very professional but more than that very compassionate. When I do have my surgery, I'm glad he will be my surgeon.”
