“After meeting with more than six different specialists regarding issues with my back and neck, I decided to trust Dr. Bassewitz with my health and mobility. Dr. Bassewitz and Edmund changed my life. They did this by listening to me and understanding that my body was telling me something was wrong. Dr. Bassewitz looked at the X-rays and MRI and confirmed what I believed to by the root of the issues with my neck. We planned the surgery, and I couldn't have been happier. I was out of my brace in 2 weeks and hadn't looked back, well actually I have since I can now turn my head without pain. I have full mobility and can now turn my head without having to turn my upper body at the same time. Dr. Bassewitz then went on to address the issue in my lower back, which had a previous surgery done on it in the same spot; at this point, a disc replacement was in order. Out of the brace in a few weeks and within six months back to playing golf, hiking, and working with no pain or issues. Everyone has a different experience, but I truly believe in Dr. Bassewitz and Edmund and cannot thank them enough for getting me back to normal.”

“Dr. Bassewitz performed an out-patient procedure loosening a nerve from my spine. At follow-up, I was still limping and in pain. He asked if I would mind his taking an x-ray of my leg, which uncovered a botched surgery by a previous surgeon on my femur. Without this information and the referral to a trauma orthopedic surgeon by Dr. Bassewitz, my ultimate recovery would never have occurred.”

“A little over 20 years ago, I was diagnosed with degenerative disc disorder. I was throwing out my back once or twice throughout the year. Last year, I really threw out my back during COVID, and I was in extreme pain, at 10 on a scale of 10, from last March until I saw Dr. Bassewitz for the surgery in November. I had shooting pains going down both legs. I couldn’t walk. I was crawling around my house, and I hadn’t sat down for about two years. After surgery, my pain scale is at a 2, if that, and I’m able to sit for hours and hours. After about a month and a half, I started physical therapy, which I just finished 4 months after surgery, and I’m almost back to normal now. I was astonished by the amount of time it took to heal and the lack of pain. I am just so, so happy with the results.”

“I had surgery with Dr. Bassewitz for grade 3 spondylolisthesis. The second month after surgery, I was already walking and had no pain. I was walking 2 or 3 miles a day. I did everything they told me, and to my surprise, I haven’t had any problems. Now, my pain is at a 0, and I used to be 10 every day. I couldn’t get out of bed. I couldn’t sit on soft chairs or sofas—everything had to be firm. Sometimes I would lose my balance and fall. Now, it’s at a 0. I’m back to my normal life. I’m happy. Dr. Bassewitz gives the best treatments. He takes time with his patients, he explains things, and he cares. I’m so glad there are doctors like him. He basically gave me my life back. If I hadn’t had the surgery when I did, I probably wouldn’t be working right now. Now, I’m working, I’m still walking, and I’m back to the gym.
